Tidal is a high fidelity music streaming service made for audiophiles

Music streaming is the future now, I can pretty much say that for myself because its been a while since I last downloaded an album from illegal Chinese sources or buy an album from iTunes. Music streaming services like Spotify has totally changed the way I listen to music, however there’s just one thing that the service will never satisfy me – sound quality, Spotify only streams 320kbps MP3 at this point of time.

Meet Tidal, a new music streaming service from Swedish company Aspiro that will stream lossless audio at 1411kbps to your ears and speakers, it will cost $19.99 a month and the streaming app is available for iOS and Android devices, however if you are not residing in the US or UK, you won’t be able to enjoy the service while the company has mentioned on its website that it will expand the service worldwide in near future.

While paying $19.99 is pretty expensive, considering the fact that I could use it to pay for my local cable TV service, I’m certain that audiophiles who really appreciate audio quality on music streaming are willing to pay the price, which is still considerably cheaper than buying albums off iTunes or from a music store. Let’s just hope Spotify has a solution for this and offer high fidelity audio streaming, I really don’t mind paying a little to be frank but paying almost $20 for that high streaming bit rate, I’ll pass.
