These days, we can see smartphone makers trying to diversify to as much products as possible, OnePlus has apparently teased its own drone called the DR-1 and it is now confirmed, the OnePlus DR-1 is the first drone product from a smartphone company.
If you think OnePlus is going to charge you a few hundred US dollars for this Drone, you’re pretty much mistaken because the DR-1 sells at a mere $19.99, which makes it a super dirt cheap product when you consider a Parrot AR.DRONE would at least cost 40-50 times the price of a DR-1. But before you shout, the DR-1 is a really small drone measuring at 70mmx28mm and it merely weighs 15g at including the blades, there’s no built-in camera and no wireless connectivity to connect with your smartphone so you are very much left to control the drone with a toy like remote control.
The OnePlus DR-1 has a 100mAh battery onboard and supports QuickCharge technology that will bring the drone back to life for 5-8 minutes with a mere 20 minute charge, the product is only available in the US at this point of time and we certainly think OnePlus Malaysia won’t be bringing this little baby here, and when it does, we can’t think of what people here can do with it. Remember guys, its just a small toy, don’t over stress it but hey, attaching a GoPro might make a little bit of sense to make it more useful.
