Ever since the launch of the Huawei Mate 8 a few days back, the company has received overwhelming response in terms of preorders over at its e-commerce website VMall.my with 1000 units sold in the first day at March 8th, this makes it the second best and fastest selling smartphone from the Chinese company after successfully launching the Nexus 6P two months back. On the other hand, Huawei isn’t resting its efforts on VMall alone, the company today launched an exclusive promotion for its customers at its concept store in Suria KLCC, whereby the first 88 customers to queue in line who intends to purchase the Mate 8 will get a complimentary Huawei TalkBand B2 wearable worth RM558, the Huawei Mate 8 comes in standard and premium variants, which are priced at RM2,099 and RM2,399 respectively.

For the first time in Chinese smartphone sales history in Malaysia, the response of Malaysian consumers have changed positively towards the Chinese company, since the Mate 8 isn’t any cheaply priced Chinese smartphone, such overwhelming response is definitely a historical moment for Huawei. Being the first in the line of the queue, user Lim Chin Yong (as pictured above) has expressed confidence in the Mate 8 for its great features and reasonable price tag for a premium smartphone, hence the switch from his Samsung smartphone. Of course, there were also users among the queue telling us it is their first purchase of a Huawei smartphone or have decided made the switch from their current smartphone.

The Mate 8 is currently Huawei’s most powerful phablet ever released to date and continues to offer what’s already great on its predecessor, this phablet has a speedy HiSilicon Kirin 950 Octa-Core processor and comes in 3GB/32GB and 4GB/64GB storage flavors, it features a 6-inch Full HD display, 16-megapixel camera with Smart OIS, a whooping 4000 mAh battery that delivers up to two days of standby time, a fast rear mounted fingerprint scanner and has Android 6.0 Marshmallow running out of the box. We’ve got ourselves a unit of the Huawei Mate 8 in the labs, so stay tuned for more coverage of the phone.
