GoPro has done pretty well with its Hero 3+ right here and most people actually treat it like a selfie camera more than an action camera, the Hero 3+ is also pretty pricey at around RM1.3K and a lot of us are actually wondering if there are cheaper alternatives, but before we start searching for it GoPro seems to have something great for the budget conscious users out there with the introduction of the GoPro Hero 2014.
According to reports, the GoPro Hero 2014 Edition could be a sub $200 action camera which is actually very much cheaper than the Hero 3+, we could probably expect GoPro to strip off some features from its flagship model such as 4K video recording, WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity and 12 FPS burst photos, however the GoPro Hero 2014 will still be able to support 1080p30 and 720p60 video recording so it isn’t too bad if you aren’t too particular about recording extremely high res videos.
Of course, you would have to compromise a lot for the cheaper GoPro model, as you can see in the comparison image above, colors looked slightly washed out when it’s compared to the Hero 3+, so you are pretty much paying for what you are getting on the Hero 2014 Edition. Expect the GoPro Hero 4 coming soon as well with an expected official announcement on October 8.
