Yet another company has entered the VR Headset market and that company is Sulon Technologies. However, unlike the other VR headsets that have been announced, the Sulon Q as it is called, is a rather ambitious one.

Revealed at the AMD Radeon “Capsaicin” event, the Sulon Q is touted at the world’s first and only all-in-one, tether-free, “wear and play” headset for virtual reality, augmented reality and spatial computing. Powered by an AMD FX-8800P processor, a Radeon R7 series GPU, 8GB of RAM and a 256GB SSD, the Sulon Q seems to be a standalone console/VR headset hybrid. As for the screen, the Sulon Q features a 1440p HD OLED display.

Perhaps the most ambitious part of the Sulon Q is the fact that the headset itself is tether-free, meaning that you have to deal with wires. As for the AR part of the headset, the Sulon Q is said to be able to rival what Microsoft has in the HoloLens.

Sulon has yet to reveal pricing or availability of the Sulon Q, but judging by its tech and the prices of various other VR headsets, we’re just going to assume that it isn’t going to be cheap.
