While everyone seems to love round watch faces, Samsung is now set to have a new design on its next Gear smartwatches after slowing things down for some time. According to reports from SamMobile, the Korean firm will be launching its new round smartwatch some time in the next quarter and tentatively has the name called the Gear A.
The Gear A will apparently come in two variants – one with standard Bluetooth connectivity while the other with 3G voice and data just like the current Gear S. The new round smartwatch from Samsung will apparently come with WiFi connectivity as standard and will come preloaded with the company’s very own Tizen OS rather than Android Wear.

While the Apple Watch is set to go on sale this April 24th, it is obvious that Samsung wants to still stay ahead of the competition with its Gear smart watches since the Apple Watch’s functionality is very much on par with its current watch software. At least with the recent Galaxy S6 and S6 edge release, we know Samsung is finally doing something good about software and we look forward to it.
