Samsung has recently launched the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge back in MWC last month, seeing a return of features that were omitted with the S6 and S6 Edge line last year – water resistance and expandable storage. Prior to that, Samsung has refreshed its Galaxy A series for 2016, sporting huge aperture selfie cameras for selfie enthusiasts. We have also seen the announcement of the 2016 Galaxy J3 late last year, leading to its Chinese market specific release in January 2016. With rumors of a Galaxy J5 launch anytime soon, press renders of the Galaxy J7 have been leaked.

The refreshed iteration of the Galaxy J7 is expected to sport more mid range-like specs as compared to the J3 and J5, both of which sport slightly lower end specs. The former is tipped to feature a 5.5 inch HD Super AMOLED screen, a standard 13MP rear facing camera and a 5MP selfie camera. Under the hood, the Galaxy J7 is rumored to run on Samsung’s in-house Octa-Core Exynos 7870 processor clocked at 1.7GHz and 2GB of RAM alongside 16GB of expandable storage, and lastly a 3,300mAh battery. With the official release of Android N coming soon, we will be expecting the Galaxy J7 to run Android Marshmallow out of the box.

One thing to note is the Galaxy J7 (2016) will most likely be available only in China before other variants are released to specifc parts of Asia and Oceania. Since these press renders are leaked, we will be expecting Samsung to announce the Galaxy J7 pretty soon. Till then, stay tuned!
