The gameplay of Pokemon Go was unveiled back last year, where players are able to use their smartphones to explore Pokemon in the real world with augmented reality, the game has officially gone live today in Australia and New Zealand for Android and iOS devices, those of you who are not in the said countries but have an Android device, you would be happy to know that the APK of the file can be downloaded from APKMirror, account registration can be made inside the game using your Google Account, we’ve also given it a quick run and this is how Pokemon looks like on our side.

After finishing the initial set up, the game displays a map and uses your phone’s GPS to point the exact location you are at, walk along and the character will also move along as well, so you are going to feel like a real Pokemon trainer carrying a Pokedex on your hands. The Purple icon that you see on the screen is called a Pokestop, which you can actually tap on it and grab stuffs such as Pokeballs.

Wild Pokemon will appear randomly on your screen from time to time, once you tap the Pokemon on the map you will see the screen above, while you do not need a Pokemon to make the wild Pokemon weak, the challenge here is throwing the Pokeball properly, which will definitely remind you of the game Paper Toss.

Once you have successfully captured the Pokemon, the Pokedex registers it and you can choose to power up your Pokemon with in game credits, which can also be used to purchase other items.

On early impressions, Pokemon Go is a fun game, but its a game that requires you to be at outdoors most of the time, unless you don’t mind getting sunburnt in our hot weather, I would really suggest that you try out the game just for fun.
