Everyone is expecting Apple to launch its video streaming service next week, and though the company is welcoming third-party services like HBO, Showtimes and Starz, Netflix said that they will not be joining Apple’s streaming service.

According to Recode, Netflix CEO Reed Hastings said, “We want to have people watch our shows on our services,” even though he thinks “Apple’s a great company.” In addition, Netflix also doesn’t support the Up Next feature on Apple’s TV app, so it’s expected that Netflix won’t want its content to be controlled by Apple.

Netflix also addressed the issue in getting more competitors, in which Hastings said “You do your best job when you have great competitors.” According to Mac Rumors, Hastings also mentioned that the company will compete “with difficulty”, though it has been doing so with Amazon over the years.

As for Apple, its streaming service will probably be revealed next week, but analysts are already predicting that the service will not be offering a big impact in terms of company earnings in a Bloomberg report.
