In tandem with the opening of MSI’s Store located at the 2nd floor of Lowyat Plaza, the Taiwanese gaming component manufacturer has also launched 3 new laptops in Malaysia, with one of them being a gaming laptop with the other two being workstations.
The gaming laptop in question is the GT72, the first gaming laptop in the world that features eye-tracking technology. This eye-tracking tech comes courtesy of Tobii Tech and is integrated into the GT72, allowing for a deeper game immersion. Besides that, the display of the GT72 features Nvidia G-Sync, allowing the laptop to minimize display stutter and input lag. The GT72 utilises the GTX 980M 8GB GDDR5 graphics card to take advantage of the G-Sync feature.

For workstations, the models in question are the WS60 and the WS72. The WS60 is equipped with Intel’s latest 6th Generation Core-i7 or Xeon processors, as well as Nvidia’s latest Quadro M-series GPU, all while maintaining a 19.9mm thick chassis that weighs only 1.95kg. Designed for all mutlmedia & entertainment content creation designers and CAD CAM engineers, the WS60 Series features two built-in DDR4-2133 SO-DIMM slots with a configurable maximum of 32GB, giving it a performance boost of over 30% compared to DDR3L-1600 setup. The WS60 Series will ship with Windows 10 Pro preloaded.
Last on the list of laptops is the WS72, a workstation laptop made for CAD & 3D modelling. The WS72 boasts a 6th Gen Intel Core-i7 or Xeon processor, four DDR4-2133 SO-DIMM slots with a configurable maximum of 64GB, Super RAID 4 that is capable of having read speeds of over 3300MB/s and PCI-E Gen3 X4 M.2 SSD which has a read speed of up to 2200MB/s.The WS72 series will come preloaded with Windows 10 Pro and will come with M5000M, M4000M, M3000M and M2000M configurations.
