Do you believe in the phrase ‘education through entertainment’? If you do, you would be interested to know that Minecraft will be launching an Education Edition of the game that is scheduled to be released this Summer.
According to the website, this particular version of Minecraft is specifically designed for classroom use. As such, it comes with features that are not found in the original game. Some of the features that will be present in Minecraft: Education Edition includes enhanced maps with coordinates, a Student Portfolio feature, enhanced multiplayer and world import and export.
Minecraft: Education Edition will replace its predecessor, MinecraftEdu. Existing MinecraftEdu users will be upgraded to Minecraft: Education Edition with 12 months of free access to the game. Minecraft: Education Edition will be available for purchase by schools, libraries, museums, and participants in nationally recognized home-school organisations in the US.
