Microsoft is beta testing a password-less login system for Windows

Google isn’t the only one looking at password-less logins as Microsoft is apparently testing a similar system via a Windows 10 Mobile app.

First spotted on the Microsoft Store, the Phone Sign-in Beta is apparently undergoing internal testing purposes. If you would like to try out this feature, you’ll need to register for the Beta.

The way this works is that you’ll first need to install the app on your Windows 10 phone. After that, you’re going to need to connect the phone to your computer via Bluetooth. Once conneted, all you need to do is to pull out your phone and tap on the icon of the computer you want to log into. If everything works out well, you can now access your computer without needing to input a password.

Before you sign up though, do keep in mind that the Beta app works on Windows phones only. Secondly, the password-less login will only work on Windows 10. If, however, you have a Lumia on your hands and your computer is running Windows 10, you can be one of the first to log into Windows without needing a password.
