Microsoft disses Macs on commercial series

Microsoft has released an ad campaign, showcasing what Windows PC’s are capable of, promoting Windows 10, the Surface Book and the Surface Pro 4. The ad series, which were unveiled during the Academy Awards pre-show, show a form of hostility to Apple’s Mac lineup.

The ad series feature the Bug Chicks, Kristie Reddick and Jessica Honaker, entomologists from Texas A&M university. In the ads, the insect loving duo demonstrate how Windows’ features assist them in educating the world on insects and spiders.

Highlighting features such as Cortana, Microsoft Hello, Microsoft Edge and Ink, both Reddick and Honaker complain about the absence of the features on Mac’s. Directly quoting from the ads are these killer lines:

“I don’t have a touchscreen on my Mac.” (referring to Ink)

“Even on the new Mac’s they don’t have that.” (referring to Cortana)

Mostly promoting about their ease of user experience, coupled with some creepy crawlies to spice up the on-screen interaction, Microsoft certainly has the guts to go against Apple’s Mac’s and OS. The 31-second commercial can be watched here, along with three short clips of 15 seconds. What do you think about Microsoft’s style of advertising? Let us know your thoughts!
