We are back at it again, with a report of yet another explosion incident involving a smartphone, following many other similar reports like an everlasting show of fireworks. The unfortunate death and fire incidents surrounding the Galaxy Note 7 led to a chain reaction of countless reports of different handsets allegedly exploding, causing nearly every case of an explosion to be reported to the media. This time round, a Canadian man has reported his Galaxy S7 combusting, injuring himself in the process.

According to Canadian local paper Winnipeg Sun, 34 year old Amarjit Mann claims his 6 month old Galaxy S7 to have fired up in his hands before exploding in the end. The handset, which was purchased new for $1,000 (RM3,279.82) was in Mann’s pocket before he started feeling a certain “warmness”, leading to him taking the phone out to inspect. It is when he took the S7 out and it is said to “explode right away”.

Mann claims that there was a little steam from the S7 that hit his hand, and then a sound of an explosion like fire crackers. According to him, the handset at one point was stuck to his hand before he managed to throw it out of his car window. As a result, Mann suffered second and third degree burns to his hands, which will take 8 to 9 days to heal up, however he was fortunate not to suffer any injuries to his face, in which would turn out worse if the explosion happened while receiving a phone call.

Mann plans to file a lawsuit against Samsung, including a claim for his lost wages since he is a mechanic. Samsung, which was hit badly by the Galaxy Note 7 issue, would probably investigate this case thoroughly before proceeding with any action. What do you think?
