LG has kicked the flagship smartphone competition up a notch by announcing the launch date of the company’s upcoming G5.

The Korean OEM has confirmed on Twitter that it will announce its flagship handset on the 21st of February, a Sunday, which happens to be the same day Samsung will be launching the Galaxy S7. Recently, LG has sent out invitations to its press event at MWC and has confirmed to CNET that G5 will be launched at the press event. While we can’t exactly confirm the flagship device’s specs, we have had rumors and alleged leaks of the LG G5 itself.

The G5 is said to feature a secondary display like on last year’s V10, sporting a ticker-like display above the primary display. Speaking of which, the G5 is rumored to have a 5.6 inch QHD. It will sport a 16MP rear shooter, with a fingerprint sensor below it. Underneath the hood, the device is speculated to be powered by a Snapdragon 820 chip, 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage.

Other than that, we will have to wait for MWC which is only less than three weeks away. So stay tuned!
