We’ve already heard enough of Chinese tech products here in Malaysia especially in the smartphone market, and now we’re finally seeing a Chinese PC component manufacturer entering the SEA market. Introducing Kimtigo, or known as “Tigo”, a leading Chinese semiconductor brand and is ranked No. 1 in China for its storage offerings. Along with its global expansion, the company has introduced its KTA-350 SATA III SSD and KTD-401 UFO-shaped powerbank to the SEA market.

The KTA-350 SSD is powered by the latest and advanced SMI technology controller and an integrated with a DDR3 256MB built-in cache, which results in faster boot ups, quick transfer and storage of huge files, documents and computing software. Being a hybrid SSD drive, it comes equipped with a SATA III 6GB/s and also can be backwards compatible with SATA II interface at 3GB/s. Storage capacity is available up to 480GB, and offers maximum read and write speed at 500 MB/s and 400 MB/s respectively.

Manufactured in high-grade polished metal finish, the KTD-401 is an extremely slim power bank measuring at 13mm thickness, slimmer than other traditional power banks available in the market. The KTD-401 is uniquely crafted in a UFO-shaped design that gives a futuristic yet classic appeal, its stainless steel design has also gone through electroplating, high-polishing, and oxidation treatment. Sadly, this unique powerbank only comes with a capacity of 3500mAh and only supports 1A charging.

While we’ve only received information from its PR that they are on their way to Malaysia very soon, there’s no pricing information as of now but we should see the brand popping up really soon in retail shelves, let’s hope Kimtigo’s SSD will sell cheap here, knowing Chinese companies, surprises can be expected.
