OEMs have been crazily releasing Intel’s Z170 motherboards recently and the CPU boss has finally made the first two Skylake processors official, the Core i7-6700K and Core i5-6600K desktop CPUs are now the most sophisticated silicons that you can buy really soon for your mainstream rigs, the new CPUs from Intel are also designed for overclockers and will have full DDR4 support.

The new Skylake processors are designed with the most efficient 14nm process, which means these chips not only just run faster but it is also cooler and more efficient than its predecessor. If you have actually spent your cash on a 5th Gen Intel Core processor, fret not as you are still getting a much more powerful computing experience than Skylake, as the latter doesn’t have that much of CPU cache, two times lesser processing threads while merely having up to 32GB of maximum RAM. Since Skylake processors are designed to be more budget friendly, Intel’s ARK has mentioned that the processor will support DDR3L RAM, which means you could expect affordable Skylake motherboards if you are not prepared to invest into expensive DDR4 RAMs just yet.

Both the Core i5 and Core i7 Skylake CPUs are equipped with Intel’s HD Graphics 530 GPU that delivers a maximum frequency of 1.15GHz and 1.7GB of graphics memory, it supports a maximum resolution output of 4096×2304  @ 60Hz over eDP connection. Pricing of the new Skylake CPU has also been revealed by Intel, the Core i7-6700K retails at $350 (MYR1360) and the Core i5-6600K retails at $243 (MYR945), which is similarly priced with its 4th Generation processors. We are expecting the new CPUs to hit up in local stores within two weeks time and we certainly can’t wait to see what performance advantages it has over its predecessor. Are you ready for Skylake?
