It’s been a year since HTC launched it’s One Max smartphone, which is also the company’s first attempt at making a phablet sized smartphone. Online sources have leaked that HTC has apparently been making the successor to the HTC One Max, codenamed M8_LIFE, the phone will have beastly specs similar to the GALAXY Note 4 such as a 5.5-inch 2K display, Snapdragon 805 2.7GHz processor and 3GB of RAM.

The phone’s build materials is also rumored to be using a combination of aluminum and Silicon carbide alloy frame, sources have also said that the One M8 Max should have an extremely powerful 18 Megapixels OIS camera with the Duo camera in place for measuring depth of field, battery life is also expected to be more than 3000mAh.

HTC has done pretty good with the One M8 this year, let alone that the phone has been mistreated to a bend test by Consumer Reports, it has been an extremely solid device that has worked well in our review. We have also wondered if HTC has given up on its Ultrapixel camera since its recent flagship Butterfly 2 has stopped using it while the new One M8 Max won’t be equipped with that camera either, but we certainly hope HTC can implement its Ultrapixel technology just like ASUS’s PixelMaster technology in its upcoming smartphone

Do expect some announcements in the upcoming months.
