Remember last year HTC went into a partnership with Under Armour and released the Re Grip fitness band? The two companies have announced the world’s first comprehensive connected system that measures, monitors and manages key aspects of one’s health. The UA HealthBox consists of a fitness band, a heart rate monitor and a smart scale that are both connected seamlessly with the UA Record app to keep track of fitness data, UA Record is supported on Android and iOS devices and will serve as a simple fitness tracking platform that is designed based on HTC’s smartphone design philosophy that aims to remove barriers and complexity.

The UA Band is a fitness grip designed to be worn all day and is able to track daily activity, workouts and sleep, its hardware design utilizes a seamless exterior shell with a discreetly hidden display that only stays on when in use, it also has a LED that indicates the wearer’s heart rate zone when paired to the UA Heart Rate, a compact chest strap heart rate monitor with an innovative micro snap technology designed to be undetectable during workouts. To complete UA Healthbox experience, the UA Scale is a WiFi enabled scale with a beautiful iconic circular design, the glass built scale is able to support up to eight users and syncs with UA Record for individuals to monitor their weight.

HTC’s and Under Armour’s collaboration is definitely a great one, as both companies have the know-how on making hardware and fitness tracking respectively, the UA Healthbox will be available on January 22 in the US and both HTC and Under Armour are taking pre-orders on their website, the set is expected to retail at $400 (RM1738) and international availability will be made throughout the year.
