Just when I thought I’ve seen the most handsome fitness watch from ASUS a couple of weeks back, Fitbit has got my jaw dropped on its latest announcement of its Blaze fitness watch, finally a color screened watch that looks stylish and one can wear it on any occasions. Even though it does look like a smart watch that can install and run apps, the Blaze is still technically a fitness centric device and a totally new category from the company.

The Blaze will come with three types of interchangeable straps – genuine leather, stainless steel and high performance elastomer, it features a whole new fitness experience which includes FitStar Personal Trainer on-screen workouts that guides the wearer on working out various activities, smart track automatic exercise recognition that automatically recognizes the workout you are performing while still offering built-in GPS, a new PurePulse continuous wrist-based heart rate tracking and multi-sport mode. The Blaze will also be able to receive calls, text and calendar notifications, and controlling music playback via Bluetooth SMART, it also features automatic sleep tracking and up to 5-days of battery life.

Can’t wait to get one? Fitbit is now opening a presale for the Blaze for $199.95 on its website today and other major American retailers in the following day, it will come with elastomer band as standard with colors of black, blue and plum to choose from, the classic high-performance elastomer band ($29.95), Luxe genuine leather band with steel display frames ($99.95), and Luxe stainless steel with stainless steel display frame ($129.95) are sold separately and available on the day itself.
