BenQ’s gaming division, Zowie, has launched a new gaming monitor today that is tailor made for the e-sports scene, the XL2540.
As expected from an e-sports monitor, the Zowie XL2540 monitor is 24.5″ gaming monitor has a 1080p screen that comes with a refresh rate of 240Hz and a 1ms grey-to-grey response time. For outputs, the XL2540 comes with two HDMI ports, a DisplayPort 1.2, and a DVI connection. An additional 4 USB ports can be found on the monitor as well.
Perhaps the most iconic feature of the XL2540 is the “Shields” that are placed on both sides of the monitor. The inclusion of the Shields is to let players focus on the game itself and not be distracted by the surroundings. The Shields can be adjusted or removed depending on the player’s preference. In addition to the Shields, the XL2540 also comes with the S Switch that can be found on BenQ’s other gaming monitor. With the S Switch, players can change the monitor’s settings without needing to fiddle with the traditional monitor buttons.
