The Threadripper, the processor that AMD has created to end all debates on which brand would suit users and of course the Threadripper is not complete without a throne to sit on. That’s where ASUS comes in, as they have released the X399 platform to support the processor. The socket is called the TR4, and ASUS has also provided a Republic of Gamers variant of the motherboard as well.
Extensive cooling options are available on all the X399 motherboards. The board is also smart enough to overclock the system and tune the cooling system based on the load the processor is going through. This options can be modified by an advanced user but a beginner can easily optimize the system with a single click. The boards also have multiple headers for you to add more LED strips on top of the RGB lighting that the board already provides and each LED is able to be controlled as they will be apart of the Aura Sync that can sync the lighting across motherboards, graphics cards, and RAM. The board supports an immense amount of bandwidth and because of that, the board is equipped with lots of ultra-fast connectivity like USB 3.1 Gen 2 ports, Type-A, Type-C ports and supports front panel I/O.
For those of you that like audio while rendering your work, the board supports Realtek S1220 series codec paired with an amplifier and premium components that produce immersive and crystal clear sound. It also features Sonic Studio III and Sonic Radar III software suites with support for Sonic Studio Link that gives you a virtual surround sound when using with both HTC Vive and Oculus Rift headsets.
