Rumors have been going on that Apple is set to release a refreshed 4-inch iPhone after two years of bigger sized iPhone releases, and it seems that we can now assume that Apple will not be making another new design for its 4-inch iPhone but instead, Cupertino has intended to refresh the internals of the current iPhone 5s and rebranding it to the iPhone 5e, in which the ‘e’ stands for enhanced, it sure sounds like Xiaomi’s way of naming its smartphones.
According to Chinese tech site MyDrivers, the iPhone 5e is expected to come with refreshed internals such as a newer Apple A8 processor and 1GB of RAM, it makes sense since Apple will definitely not want to put in the A9 chips to make the phone more expensive and threaten the 6s’ sales, and the A8 processor is more than sufficient for modern iOS apps and games to run smoothly, 16GB and 64GB storage models of the iPhone 5e will be available as well.
Expect Apple to announce its new iPhone 5e in its Spring event coming soon which is expected to happen around March just after Mobile World Congress, and the phone might just receive a slight mention in the launch just like the iPad mini 4.
