Not only is Apple focusing on its services this year, it seems like the company is also planning on separating their main apps — Music, Podcasts, TV and Books — from iTunes.

These apps are expected to be separated in the next macOS Mojave major update, which 9to5Mac suggests to be version 10.15. There will be a major redesign on the Books app, in which it is said to slightly resemble the Apple News app as it will have a sidebar and a narrower title bar for its different tabs.

Furthermore, the new Music, Podcasts and TV apps are reported to be made via Marzipan, a new initiative Apple has taken to ensure the iPad apps can be ported to Mac, and it is expected that the Books app will be included.

Despite being separated from iTunes, the tech giant plans to keep iTunes as it’s currently the only solution to manual sync between old iPods and iPhones with the Mac.
