Reports have surfaced recently of Apple releasing a 16-inch MacBook Pro that will replace the current 15-inch model. What’s even more surprising is that we could be seeing it as soon as this week!

According to a report by Bloomberg, several people who are “familiar with the situation (product releases)”, have mentioned that the upcoming laptop will also sport a new keyboard design – one that replace the current butterfly switches, which have been problematic to the point that Apple had to run keyboard replacement programs to fix affected MacBook Pros.

The current 15-inch models are going for RM10,499 and the report claims that the 16-inch follow ups will cost the same. There was no mention of the 13-inch models, so we reckon those will remain.

With the increase in size and switch in keyboards, it looks like Apple is listening to its customers and making the necessary improvements to their high-end offering. There are no teasers or official word from Apple yet, so we’ll have to wait and see if we really get a new MacBook Pro sometime this week.
