Having had numerous rumors and reports of Apple’s plan its Apple Pay service in China, the truth is out and Apple has officially launched its payment service in the country, stating that Apple Pay is now available to customers in the land of China. The company states:

You can now support Apple Pay for your customers in China, providing an easy, secure, and private way for them to pay using their China UnionPay credit and debit cards. Apple Pay lets users buy physical goods and services within your app without having to enter payment or contact information.

This leads back to Apple’s announcement last December that it will be working with China’s Union Pay to bring Apple Pay to its customers sometime this year.

Recently rumored is also an Apple Pay launch at France, but nothing has yet to materialize thus far. Apple Pay was first launched in the US back in 2014. China is now in the listed of Apple Pay supported countries alongside US, UK, Canada, Australia, Hong Kong, Spain, and Singapore.
