We know everyone of you would like to hear Apple recalling a batch of iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus to fix the “bendgate” issue, but you can easily overcome that issue by purchasing a solid case to avoid being bent. According to Business Korea, the 128GBiPhone 6 Plus model is the only affected model and might be due for recall as some users have reported unintentional crashes and reboots, while sites like TechnoBuffalo can confirm this issue on the iPhone 6 Plus, we fortunately didn’t face such issues on our iPhone 6 128GB model which we’ve just completed the review.

The cause of this issue is that Apple has opted to use triple-level cell (TLC) NAND flash storage in the iPhone 6 Plus to reduce costs over multi-level cell (MLC) NAND flash storage in other iPhone models, sources have explained that while TLC is able to store more data, it lacks performance when compared to MLC thus causing the iPhone 6 to crash when the flash chip reaches its maximum read/write threshold. In addition, some Samsung SSD products that uses the same NAND flash has also face the similar issue.

If you intend buy an iPhone 6 Plus 128GB model in the launch this week, do remember to take note on this point or simply avoid buying the 128GB model at this point of time if you can while Apple resolve this issue, we certainly hope that this could be resolve via a software update but since this is a hardware performance issue, recalling the product might be a better approach.
