Apple has finally announced its rumoured product in its Spring Forward event, the new 12-inch MacBook is now live and it is stunningly thin and beautiful, the new MacBook also comes in the same color options with the company’s recent products – Space Grey, Silver and Gold.

The new MacBook doesn’t just only feature a new display size, Apple has made the logic board 67% smaller than its predecessors to fit in the 13.1mm thin form factor, its weight is equivalent to two iPad Airs at 2 pounds and features an all new touch pad with Force Touch and a butterfly mechanism on its keyboard that offers more precise and stable typing on a thin machine.

Without any doubt, the new 12-inch MacBook uses a super efficient Intel Core M processor to reach that thinness, it is also technically the first Core M powered Notebook with fanless cooling (the Yoga 3 Pro still has it). Apple has also designed a new contoured battery cell to fully utilise the chassis’s space that offers up to 9 hours of battery life, the laptop now features one USB-C port for all purposes – charging, transferring data, audio and display output. Last but not the least, the MacBook’s Retina Display has a resolution of 2308×1440 and is 30% more efficient than its MacBook Air siblings.

Apple will start selling the new MacBook on April 10 with the starting price of RM4499 and up to RM5499 that comes with a faster CPU and 512GB of SSD storage. Other updates to other MacBook line ups include 5th Generation Intel Core processors that results in a longer battery life, and the new Force Touch mechanism touch pad is now available on the MacBook Pro 13-inch model.
