Today at IFA 2015 in Berlin, Acer announced a slew of new products. Just like previous years, they have something new for each segment. For one, Acer spoke about its expansion of its Chromebook family line-up with the new Chromebook R11 that can swivel up to 160 degrees and sports an aluminium cover made with Acer’s imprint technology.

Acer Aspire Switch is its 2-in-1 detachable line, and during the press con, Acer unveiled the Aspire Switch 12, which comes with an anodised cover, features a 12.5-inch screen and only 8.5mm thin. The screen is made from Corning Gorilla Glass 4, and by working with Intel, the Aspire Switch 12 comes with 45 apps for Intel Real Sense, and incorporates Intel 3D Real Sense to allow you to log into your computer using your face.

If you remember the cute little trashcan looking Chromebox by Acer, well, this time, they have launched a new version – the Acer Revo, that looks very much like a bento box, and even works like one as you can stack magnetised modules on top of each other. Each module consists of different “parts” of the mini-pc, and Acer pushed its creativity to another level where you can actually even use one of the modules as a power bank.

As for the mobile phone segment, Acer announced its Jade Primo, which is a Windows 10 phone that sports a Super AMOLED 5.5-inch screen, 21MP main camera with dual LED flash, and equipped with Snapdragon Qualcomm 801 on the inside. As a full productivity phone that allows you to use Windows 10 Continuum, the Jade Primo is bundles with all sorts of accessories such as a docking station, wireless mouse, keyboard and more.

As for Acer’s gaming initiative – the Predator, there was a slew of products launched from almost all segments in the family. For one, the Predator V Nitro has a newer model in its family that features a few new upgrades gamers might find enticing. The new V Nitro has a newly improved keyboard that is more responsive, has better wireless connectivity, comes with USB type-C, and even sports new lighting on the upper area of the keyboard. On the inside however, Acer has made some pretty nifty upgrades on its thermal performance. One of it is incorporating Acer DustDefender, which puts two fans on the notebook and vents that kicks out the dust from the inside of the notebook, making thermal performance better and increasing the lifespan of the notebook. Another interesting new item placed inside the new Predator series of notebooks is the AeroBlade.

Acer mentioned that this is the world’s thinnest metal fan blade, and the reason metal was chosen as a material instead of plastic is because metal is thinner, hence Acer is able to pack more blades on such a small fan – about 50 blades on that tiny thing. Another hardware to control thermal temperature is the FrostCore, a new fan in Acer’s notebooks, and the software to make the notebook even cooler is CoolBurst software, which allows you to have manual control over your fan speeds.

Another Predator notebook revealed was the Predator 15/17, the same notebooks hinted a few months ago – now revealed in two different sizes at IFA 2015. Both notebooks features all the thermal control technology and sports a new special keyboard, while the 17-inch version has two subwoofers built-in.

Acer also launched a new Predator monitor – the Predator Z35, which they claim to be the fastest monitor in the world with overclocked refresh rate of 200Hz. This beautiful real estate comes in 35-inch, with 2000R curvature, 21:9 ratio and GSync ready, giving you a more immersive gaming experience.

A big surprise Acer sprung on us was a new type of product – the Predator Projector. This is a short throw, ultra-wide laser projector that can project a 120-inch display at the distance of 50cm from the wall.

Another interesting device was the Predator 6 Gaming Tablet, that sports a deca-core Mediatek processor, 4GB RAM with 4 speakers and haptic feedback.

That’s so far what Acer has unveiled at IFA 2015, and we are now waiting for them to release all the detailed specs and availability.
