Access Google Drive on mobile even without a Google Account

Google just announced that Google Drive on Android and iOS will be experiencing some new updates, which will make it easier to use this cloud storage more efficiently. Some of these features will be available immediately, while some will be introduced part by part. One of its new features is notifications. Android and iOS users will get notifications whenever a file or folder has been shared with them, and when someone requests to access a file you own. Instead of going deep into the app itself to authorize access, you can just grant or deny permissions with just a single tap. With this same feature, you can also request permission to access files with a single tap instead of requesting using Google Drive on the web. The useful thing about this new feature is that since Google Drive allows you to share links to files and folders with other apps, it can be a pain when you don’t have a computer to gain or give permissions.

Next and most importantly, you would also soon not need a Google Account in order to access a shared file or folder on your Android device. You can open files on your mobile without an account, just like how you do when accessing through the web. Although Google has not mention when exactly will we see these new updates on iOS, but we can probably expect it out not too long after Android.
