In recent days, Motorola has introduced a few hardy droids to the smartphone market, namely, DROID Turbo, DROID Maxx and DROID Mini which all boasts of apparent mammoth-sized battery packs – 3,900 mAh, 3,500 mAh and 2,000 mAh respectively. Due to the enormous battery capacity, Motorola claims that the devices would last from 28 hours to 48 hours on mixed usage. Well, all these figures are relative anyway.

Enter the Gionee’s Marathon M3 – a (Chinese) smartphone which packs a whopping 5,000 mAh battery pack in a 10.4mm-thin chassis! Talk about a gargantuan battery pack in a relatively slim body. The smartphone has already been released for sale in India at 12, 999 rupees (approximately RM705). However, it seems that the device can’t be purchased via the online store at the moment but on the flipside, the Gionee website for India ships Internationally.
