It’s been five years since Xiaomi has started in its home ground, the company will be celebrating its 5th birthday and hold its Mi Fan Festival on this April 8, CEO Lei Jun has also taken the opportunity to introduce a couple of new products to the table in China.

The Mi Note has finally got a new pink color option which is best suited for female users, for girls who are expecting the Pro version of the device you are pretty much out of luck, as Xiaomi has only made the pink color model only available for the standard variant of the Mi Note, which still comes with an impressive Snapdragon 801 CPU with 3GB RAM and a 5.7-inch Full HD IPS display. The good news is, Xiaomi still sells the Pink Mi Note at RMB2499 (RM1500).

The original Mi TV has a good 46-inch 4K panel with some decent hardware power onboard, Xiaomi’s new 55-inch Mi TV 2 not only has a bigger screen and the same gorgeous display resolution, it now features an all new 8 channel aluminum sound bar with subwoofer and super fast WiFi AC MIMO antennas for better reception, otherwise there’s a Cortex-A17 quad-core cheap that is able to decode 4K 60 FPS content. The 55-inch Mi TV 2 retails at RMB4999 (RM3000), still pretty affordable when compared to the rest of the competition.

Xiaomi isn’t just a smartphone maker but the company has recently been venturing into home electronics and this isn’t a smart connected product, but rather a useful multi-socket gang that would sell really well for its RMB49 price tag, the Mi Strip is a surged protected multi socket gang that comes with three power sockets and 3 USB ports that could output up to 2A of amperage.

Given Xiaomi’s commitment into fitness tracking, this is a better product than its Mi Band to be honest, the Mi Scale is a pretty elegant weighing machine that will weigh users from a range of 5-150KG, it will support both metric and imperial units and syncs data to the Mi Fit app via Bluetooth 4.0, the weighing machine has a green LED digital light that tells your weight and only gets activated upon standing on it, the Mi Scale is priced RMB99 (RM60), which is almost 4-5 times cheaper than most connected weighing machines.

Do read our Redmi 2 Review if you haven’t done so, Xiaomi has announced an even lower end variant of the Redmi 2 called the Redmi 2A, the only major difference from the original is that the SoC has been swapped with an inferior and unheard Leadcore L1860C Cortex-A7 4+1 Core 1.5GHz CPU while the rest of the hardware specs remains the same, the original Redmi 2 costs two times the price of the Redmi 2A and comes with a 64-bit Snapdragon 410 SoC.

Xiaomi has surprisingly announced a 2GB RAM model of its Mi 4 flagship smartphone while maintaining pretty much the same hardware internals, while it price isn’t much different at RMB1699 versus the original at RMB1799, the original Mi 4 with 3GB RAM is still available

Although the above mentioned products are exclusive to China, Xiaomi has made a couple off additions to its product page, which includes a Dark Grey version of the Redmi 2, two new colors for the Mi Band, a phone stand, a new pink color model of theslim 5000mAh power bank, an LED light for the Mi Power Bank and finally, the company’s very own mascot doll.

Xiaomi is definitely still staying in pace of the competition with these new additions, all we need to hope now is that the company maintains its price even after GST applies.
