U Mobile hasn’t been sitting still to see the competition react to its heroic postpaid plan offerings, the leading data strong telco is once again on the move to reward both new and current Hero Postpaid customers additional 8GB of data on top of their already generous 7GB quota, this offer starts from 15 March 2016 until 30 June 2016, despite being a limited time offer it tends to show the generosity of U Mobile and its goals in becoming the best data service provider in the nation.

There are no limitations in the additional data allowance, be it day or night, weekdays or weekends, Hero Postpaid subscribers will get to enjoy 15GB of data for the entire month throughout the promo period. After successfully launching its Hero Postpaid and Hero Plus share plan, the telco has been challenged by the remaining three established players, which all have chosen to offer high data quotas at a competitive price tag. Judging from the above comparison table, Celcom is by far the closest contender with its 10GB data quota however the data allowance is divided equally to weekdays and weekends, it also offers 5GB of complimentary Celcom public WiFi service which isn’t available everywhere, hence this is the most expensive plan users will need to commit and not being able to enjoy 100% of allocated data. DiGi on the other hand offers the same amount of data and allows users to rollover 2GB of unused data to the next billing month with a slightly cheaper price than Celcom, the new MaxisONE plan is only limited to users in East Malaysia with only a mere 5GB of data allowance, though there are speculations that the offer will eventually reach peninsular subscribers, all of these competitive offerings are still no match for U Mobile’s Hero Postpaid plan in terms of data quota and value added services at an affordable monthly commitment fee.

U Mobile’s has been constantly improving its 3G and 4G LTE services over the months, as we can see very clearly from the last few rounds of our Telco Challenge series, it is one of the best performers in a few episodes when tested in most parts of Kuala Lumpur city, the telco is also awarded ‘Malaysia’s Fastest Mobile Network’ by Ookla and more recently, it has launched the Hero Plus share plan that gives member lines additional 3GB of data and unlimited calls to all networks while sharing the principal data quota.
