The PC will getting two different VR Headsets within the next few weeks or so, starting with the Oculus Rift and soon followed by the HTC Vive. If either options sounds like too much of an investment to make, what other alternatives is there? Well, Sony might answer with the PlayStation VR.

In an interview with Nikkei Japan, Executive Vice President for Sony Computer Entertainment Masayasu Ito said that the company is considering bringing PlayStation VR support to the PC in the future. “The interior components of the PlayStation 4 is very similar to a computer’s, so it is certainly possible that the PSVR could run on the PC,” says Ito.

While Ito believes that the PSVR can be made to run on the PC, he warns that Sony would not be working on that feature anytime soon. “At the moment, we are focused on games and we are not ready to make any announcements at this stage, but I’d say there will be an expansion into various fields,” adds Ito.

So if you don’t have the cash for either the Rift or the Vive, and you are willing to be patient, the PlayStation VR might just be the most affordable VR headset you can get on the PC.
