HP have been keeping its efforts hard in the PC market and it just announced a laptop that is probably close enough to take on Apple’s MacBook Air in terms of hardware power and pricing. The Spectre x360 is a superbly thin and powerful Ultrabook measuring at 15.9mm of thickness and 3.3 pounds. In terms of design the Spectre x360 is also a 2-in-1 device, which gives it a slight advantage against the MacBook Air’s traditional laptop form factor.

The Spectre x360 will come with Intel’s Broadwell Core i5 and Core i7 processor, up to 8GB of RAM and 512GB of SSD storage, a 13.3-inch 1080p or Quad HD touch display and comes with up to 12.5 hours of battery life. Unlike the MacBook Air, HP isn’t stingy on input ports with the Spectre x360, which you will find three USB 3.0 ports, an SD card reader, an HDMI port, and a mini DisplayPort.

If all of these great stuffs don’t sound staggering enough, HP plans to sell the Spectre x360 with a starting price of $899 and up to $1399, which is indirectly giving competitors like Dell the run of its money for the Inspiron 13 7000 series and its XPS laptop line ups. The laptop will go on sale today in the US however local availability should be expected here in the coming months, stay tuned and be very excited about it.
