Christopher Poole, more commonly known as moot, was the owner of 4chan until he sold the website off to Hiroyuki Nishimura last year. Since then, the man has remained silent as to what he’s been up to. Today, the man himself revealed that he has been hired by Google.

In a blogpost, Poole reveals that he finds himself drawn to the intelligence, passion and enthusiasm of current and former “Googlers”. Poole further says that he can’t wait to contribute his own experience from a dozen years of building online communities to Google.

Thus far, Google has yet to reveal what Poole’s position at Google would be, but judging by Poole’s experience with “building online communities”, it wouldn’t be too much of a stretch to imagine that he would be part of the team handling Google’s social media-based projects. Whatever the case, Poole’s employment with Google is a drastic change in pace when compared to the utter chaos that is 4chan.
