After years of waiting, Netflix has finally arrived in Malaysia early this morning.

Netflix has finally decided to launch its services simulataneously around the world at CES today, making the service available in 130 new countries around the world. Alongside the worldwide launch, Netflix has added support for Arabic, Korean, Simplified and Traditional Chinese to the 17 languages it already supports.

While the Netflix’s global launch brings the service to many countries, there are a few that have been omitted thus far. China, Crimea, North Korea and Syria are not part of the global launch, and as such, they will not have access to the video streaming service just yet.

For Malaysians, a subscription to Netflix begins at RM33 per month for the Basic option with the Standard subscription costing RM42 while the Premium subscription costs RM51.

Thus far, our quick browse through the Netflix library has been good thus far as it sports all the American TV shows as well as Netflix Originals. Censorship doesn’t seem to be an issue either as Zoolander is available on the service and that scene in 300 hasn’t been removed. That said, Netflix has warned that censorship may come into play in the future.

Now that Netflix is here, it’s going to be interesting to see how iflix will react to this.
