For those of you who feel that your smartphone’s in-built photo editing software is barebones, you might be interested to know that Adobe Lightroom mobile for Android is now available for free.

Adobe has dithed the Creative Cloud requirement for Lightroom mobile on Android, meaning that you’ll no longer need a desktop software subscription to use the app. This was also done on the iOS version back in October.

While you no longer need to pay to use Adobe Lightroom, features such as syncing your files and edits still require a Creative Cloud subscription.

Besides that, the free version of Lightroom retains most of its functionality, allowing you to edit raw DNG files that the mobile OS captures, as well as offering handy tools, like the ability to copy and paste edits, to help streamline your workflow.

Version 1.4 of Adobe Lightroom mobile is now available on Google Play. If you are an iOS user, then you can get it here.
