Earlier today, Yes, from YTL Communications, had updated their website to reveal their upcoming 5G services that would be introduced at a media launch tomorrow, but the page was deleted shortly after it was published. However, Lowyat.net did obtain some screenshots of when the page was still up to give a first look at what plans we might be seeing.

According to the images, Yes is will make two plans available – the Yes Prepaid 5G plan that will cost RM30, and the Yes Postpaid 5G plan that will cost RM49/month. The former will get you unlimited 5G data until 31st March 2022, plus unlimited 4G data, while the latter gives you 100GB of 4G data a month, and unlimited 5G data until the 31st of March. Additionally, both plans give you unlimited On-net voice calls, Off-net Voice calls, and On-Net SMS.

In terms of the speed of the 5G, it is still unclear, but Digital Nasional Berhad (DNB) claims that it will give you a minimum of 100Mbps when you are using a 5G network. However, the screenshots did show that the 4G data in the Yes plans would be capped at 7Mbps.

To add some context to this, YTL was the second company to work with DNB to bring 5G to Malaysia; the first being Telekom Malaysia (TM). DNB says that they aim to have 500 sites ready by the end of this month which will be available in Putrajaya, Cyberjaya, and selected areas in Kuala Lumpur.

Do note that the pricing and specifications of the Yes plans are subject to change, and we will get the full details during tomorrow’s event, so stay tuned for more updates from us.
