The Xiaomi Mi 11 has finally arrived in its native China and will be the first smartphone in the world to sport the Snapdragon 888 flagship chipset.

Xiaomi MI 11 display

Interestingly, Xiaomi only introduced one variant – which is good or bad, depending on who you ask. Regardless, the brand is putting its best foot forward here with a beastly device that comes with mammoth 6.81-inch AMOLED display that pushes a QHD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. To top it off, the display gets the Corning Gorilla Victus glass treatment, which is the toughest of its kind.

For imaging, you get a 108MP triple lens setup – here, there’s a 13MP ultrawide shooter, and a 5MP macro lens. The main 108MP shooter is the same 1/1.33” unit we saw on the Mi 10. For selfies is a 20MP front shooter placed in a punch hole notch.

Powering all that goodness is a 4,600mAh battery, and it’ll support 55W of fast charging, 50W wireless, and 10W of reverse charging. Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun previously announced that the phone will not come with a charger, and the launch confirms that; interestingly however, Xiaomi will provide customers a 65W GaN adapter for free for those who don’t have one to utilize the phone’s fast charging features on the phone.

We’re not sure if the free charger will be handed out for its Global and Malaysian launches, but the fact they’re willing to do this in its native China is a good sign. See Apple, this is how you go about removing chargers from your phones that have new fast-charging features.

There are six different colours and finishes to choose from – the more interesting ones are a Khaki Vegan Leather, Purple Leather, and a Special Edition model sporting Lei Jun’s signature at the back. The Mi 11 is priced from CNY 3,999 (RM2,479) and will is already available to pre-order in China. The phone ships on January 1.
