vivo has quietly added the X Fold6 to its Malaysian lineup, bringing its latest book-style foldable phone to the country at RM8,299. The local configuration combines 12GB of RAM with 512GB of storage and is offered in black and blue finishes.
The phone is listed through vivo’s Malaysian channels and participating retailers, with early-purchase activity running alongside the X500 series. This is a full local model rather than an imported set, but buyers should still confirm branch stock and promotional gifts before ordering because availability can differ between sales channels.
A larger foldable display with serious multitasking
The X Fold6 has a 6.51-inch LTPO AMOLED cover screen with a 1,120 x 2,528 resolution and an 8.02-inch 2,312 x 2,504 foldable display inside. Both support adaptive refresh rates up to 120Hz, while vivo advertises local peak brightness of 5,000 nits. That brightness is a laboratory peak for small portions of the screen, not the level users should expect across the whole panel continuously.

OriginOS 7 Fold is based on Android 17 and includes an Origin Workbench that can keep one primary task and four supporting tasks visible. Multi-Split Screen can display up to four apps, while frequently used app combinations can be saved to the home screen. These additions make better use of the inner panel, although app compatibility and background behaviour will need real-world evaluation.
The phone also offers AI transcription, meeting summaries, mixed-language captions and a Snap Note feature that converts photographed notes or whiteboards into editable content. vivo warns that some functions arrive through updates or vary by language and region, so buyers should not assume every advertised AI tool will work identically in Malaysia on day one.
Dimensity 9500 Super and a 6,900mAh battery
MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500 Super Edition powers the device. vivo says its customised concurrency engine reduces power consumption during heavy multitasking by 10% compared with the X Fold5, but that is a company test rather than an independent measurement.

The dual-cell BlueVolt battery has a typical equivalent capacity of 6,900mAh, with 80W wired FlashCharge and 40W wireless charging. That is a large capacity for a foldable, but endurance will depend on display use, multitasking and network conditions.
Durability ratings include IPX8 and IPX9 water resistance plus IP5X dust resistance. vivo says the hinge can be folded underwater under specific laboratory conditions, but it also stresses that this is not a professional waterproof phone and that liquid damage is not covered by the warranty.
A 200MP main camera leads the camera system
The rear camera setup includes a stabilised 200MP main camera, a 50MP periscope telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom and optical stabilisation, and a 50MP ultra-wide camera. There are also 20MP cameras on both displays for calls and selfies.

At RM8,299, the X Fold6 sits firmly in premium laptop territory. Its large battery, water resistance and multitasking software help justify the ambition, but foldable buyers should still consider long-term display protection, repair pricing and software support before committing. The specifications are strong; independent testing will determine whether the complete experience matches the price.
