HONOR Malaysia is taking the foldable smartphone battle beyond specs and into the heart of Kuala Lumpur, transforming the in-mall billboards at The Exchange TRX into giant “scoreboards” comparing the HONOR Magic V6 against a premium foldable rival.
The cheeky billboard campaign puts four of the Magic V6’s biggest selling points front and centre, focusing on hinge durability, water and dust resistance, battery capacity and fast charging. Rather than simply promoting the phone, HONOR is positioning the campaign as a direct challenge to its competition in the premium foldable segment.
HONOR Puts Magic V6 Durability and Battery in the Spotlight
Battery capacity is one of HONOR’s biggest talking points. Despite its foldable form factor, the Magic V6 packs a massive 6,660mAh silicon-carbon battery, which HONOR claims is the largest battery currently offered in a foldable smartphone.
Think of silicon-carbon technology like packing a suitcase more efficiently — the suitcase doesn’t necessarily need to become bigger, but you can fit considerably more inside. In the Magic V6, this higher energy density allows HONOR to squeeze a large 6,660mAh capacity into a relatively slim foldable device.
The battery supports 80W wired and 66W wireless charging, allowing users to quickly top up the phone without having to leave it plugged in for extended periods.
Durability is another area HONOR is highlighting through its TRX campaign. The Magic V6 features the company’s Super Steel Hinge with a rated tensile strength of 2,800MPa. HONOR previously demonstrated the strength of the hinge by using it as part of a stunt to tow an aircraft.
The Magic V6 also combines IP68 and IP69 water and dust resistance, providing additional protection against water immersion as well as high-pressure and high-temperature water jets. HONOR claims it is the first foldable smartphone to combine both ratings.
Magic V6 Starts at RM7,699 in Malaysia
The HONOR Magic V6 is priced from RM7,699 in Malaysia, positioning it directly within the premium foldable category while HONOR attempts to differentiate the device through its battery, charging and durability advantages.
HONOR is currently offering an additional RM400 rebate for customers who trade in an eligible old device when purchasing the Magic V6. The trade-in promotion runs until August 31, 2026, subject to its terms and conditions.
Every purchase also comes with a protection package worth RM2,198, consisting of one year of Worry-Free Crack Protection and two years of Worry-Free Quality Assurance.
With its latest TRX billboard takeover, HONOR clearly isn’t being subtle about who it wants the Magic V6 to compete against. Rather than relying solely on conventional advertising, the company is turning the foldable battle into a literal scoreboard — and challenging its premium rivals to beat the Magic V6 where HONOR believes it matters most.
