Samsung Malaysia has expanded Samsung Wallet support in Malaysia with the addition of MBSB Bank’s Visa Debit Card-i, allowing eligible Galaxy users to make contactless payments using their smartphones and compatible wearable devices.
The addition gives MBSB Bank customers another way to make cashless payments without carrying their physical debit card. Once the Visa Debit Card-i has been added to Samsung Wallet, users can tap their compatible Galaxy device at participating Visa merchants in Malaysia and overseas.
Contactless Payments With Samsung Wallet Security
Transactions made through Samsung Wallet are protected by Samsung’s security architecture and tokenisation technology. Instead of transmitting the customer’s actual card information during a transaction, the platform replaces it with a unique digital token.
Payments must also be authenticated using the security features available on the user’s Galaxy device, adding another layer of protection if the smartphone or wearable falls into the wrong hands.
The addition of MBSB Bank also continues Samsung’s efforts to expand Wallet beyond conventional mobile payments. The platform can bring together supported payment cards, digital keys, boarding passes and other digital essentials within a single app.
MBSB Bank Offers RM5 ZUS Coffee Voucher and Chance to Win Galaxy Tab
To celebrate the Samsung Wallet integration, MBSB Bank is running its “Tap Smart. Win Big.” campaign until August 31, 2026.
Customers who add an eligible MBSB Bank Visa Debit Card-i to Samsung Wallet and complete their first qualifying contactless transaction will receive an RM5 ZUS Coffee voucher.
Meanwhile, customers who spend at least RM30 in a single eligible transaction will stand a chance to win a Samsung Galaxy Tab, subject to the campaign’s terms and conditions.
With MBSB Bank joining the platform, Samsung continues to broaden Samsung Wallet’s local banking support as contactless and mobile payments become an increasingly common part of everyday transactions in Malaysia.
