With the release of the RX series and Vega on the horizon, AMD has recently unveiled the Radeon Pro Duo a graphics card with two times the power of a Radeon Pro WX 7100 into a single card. The card is equipped with 32GB GDDR5 memory and offers a compute performance of 11.45 teraflops. This is achieved by using two Polaris-based GPUs, each with 36 compute units making it a total of 72 compute units combining 4608 stream processors on a single card.

The Radeon Pro Duo can power up four 4K monitors at 60Hz and an 8K display at 30Hz on a single cable or 60Hz by using a dual cable solution with a DisplayPort technology known as MST or Multi-Stream Transport. The card will require power connectors, one 6-pin and one 8-pin, running a board power of 250 watts. The card, unlike the Pro WX series, will require two slots of space to fit.

The Pro Duo will release at the end of May with a retail price of $999 which is relatively worth it, seeing as it packs the power of two Radeon Pro WX 7100 which currently retails at $620, however, the application must have support for multiple GPUs and AMD’s graphics drivers.
