Acer has officially pushed gaming monitor refresh rates into four-digit territory at IFA 2026 with the Predator XB253Q U1, a 24.5-inch Full HD gaming display capable of running at a staggering 1000Hz.
The monitor is clearly built for esports and competitive players where motion clarity and response time matter more than resolution, but it arrived alongside a much broader Predator, Nitro and ProDesigner display lineup covering QD-OLED, Mini LED and 5K panels.
1000Hz is now a real gaming monitor specification
The Predator XB253Q U1 runs at 1920 x 1080 with a 1000Hz refresh rate and uses Acer’s Visual Response Boost Pro technology to reduce motion blur and ghosting. It is VESA DisplayHDR 400 certified and includes Circular Polarizer technology intended to reduce glare and eye strain during longer sessions.
AMD FreeSync Premium and NVIDIA G-SYNC Compatible support are included to minimise tearing.
Acer also has 4K QD-OLED and 500Hz dual-mode options
The 31.5-inch Predator X32 V3 takes the opposite approach with a QD-OLED Penta Tandem panel, 4K resolution and 180Hz refresh rate. Acer claims Delta E below 1 colour accuracy, 99 percent DCI-P3 coverage and VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 certification.
The 27-inch Predator XB273K V7 can switch between 4K at 160Hz and Full HD at up to 500Hz using Dynamic Frequency and Resolution technology, giving users the option to prioritise either image detail or competitive responsiveness.
Nitro models push Mini LED and multi-mode DFR
Acer’s Nitro range includes the XV275X P with 5K resolution, a 2,304-zone Mini LED backlight and HDR1400 certification, while Dynamic Frequency and Resolution allows it to switch from 5K at 165Hz to QHD at 330Hz.
The Nitro XV275U Z2 and XV270U Z3 both offer three refresh-rate modes, reaching up to 520Hz at HD resolution. Acer also announced the 34-inch curved XZ340CKR P ultrawide, which can switch from 5120 x 2160 at 180Hz to WFHD at 360Hz.
For professional creators, the ProDesigner PE270X P combines 5K resolution, a 2,304-zone Mini LED backlight, HDR1400 and factory-calibrated Delta E below 1 colour accuracy.
Pricing and availability
The Predator XB253Q U1 is scheduled for Q1 2027, starting at US$1,099 in North America and €1,099 in EMEA. Acer has not announced Malaysian pricing or availability for the new display range.
