Acer has unveiled the Googlebook 14, a 14-inch convertible laptop that pairs Google’s new Googlebook OS with Gemini Intelligence, a 3K OLED touchscreen and a lightweight 1.14kg body. Announced on 21 September 2026, it is Acer’s first Googlebook and, according to the company, the first convertible in the new laptop category.
The pitch goes beyond adding an AI shortcut to a familiar notebook. Acer is building around closer integration with Android phones, so tasks and apps can move between your phone and laptop with less manual switching.
Gemini features built around your Android phone
Continue On is designed to let users pick up tasks started on an Android phone, while Cast My Apps makes supported phone apps accessible on the laptop without installing them again. Setup is required, and Acer specifies supported devices running Android 17 or later.
Magic Pointer is activated with a cursor wiggle, while context-aware suggestions are intended to offer help based on what is on screen. These features come with caveats: availability varies by country and language, some are limited to adults, and higher usage may require a subscription. Magic Pointer also requires an internet connection.
A 3K OLED convertible with Intel Core Ultra Series 3
Inside, the Googlebook 14 can be configured with up to an Intel Core Ultra 7 355 processor, an NPU rated at up to 50 TOPS, 32GB of LPDDR5X RAM and a 512GB PCIe Gen4 NVMe SSD. Acer claims up to 16 hours of web browsing or 14 hours of local video playback, with fast charging reaching 50% in 30 minutes or 80% in an hour. Those are manufacturer figures, not results from our own testing.
The 14-inch OLED touchscreen has a 3K resolution, a 16:10 aspect ratio and a stated brightness of 500 nits. Its 360-degree hinge allows laptop, tent, stand and tablet use, and it supports USI 2.0 styluses, sold separately.
The Elemental Blue aluminium-magnesium chassis measures 13.9mm thick. A Glowbar on the lid uses colours and patterns to indicate battery and charging status, while Acer’s soft-touch finish covers the palm rest and bottom panel. There is also a backlit keyboard and a Gorilla Glass-covered touchpad.
Connectivity includes Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0 and three USB-C ports, one supporting Thunderbolt 4. A 5MP webcam with a physical privacy shutter, three microphones, a fingerprint reader in the power button and Google’s Titan-C security chip round out the hardware.
Pricing and Malaysian availability
The Acer Googlebook 14, model GP714-91N, is due in North America in October 2026 from US$899 and EMEA in October from €1,199. Australia follows in November from A$2,599. Acer describes these as limited-time starting offers, with configurations and availability varying by market.
Malaysian pricing and a local launch date have not been announced in the supplied release. The advertised 12-month Google AI Pro offer is also restricted to eligible users in selected countries; Malaysia is not on the stated list, so it should not be assumed to apply here.
