Gemini Spark Launches in Malaysia, Bringing 24/7 AI Task Automation to Google AI Subscribers

Google has officially launched Gemini Spark in Malaysia, introducing a new AI agent that can work continuously in the background to help users manage time-consuming digital tasks. Available to Google AI Pro and Google AI Ultra subscribers in both Bahasa Malaysia and English, Gemini Spark transforms Gemini from a conversational AI assistant into an intelligent agent capable of completing tasks on a user’s behalf—even while they are away from their devices.

Powered by Gemini 3.6 Flash, Gemini Spark runs securely on Google’s cloud infrastructure and integrates natively with Google Workspace services including Gmail, Docs and Sheets, allowing users to automate everyday workflows without requiring any additional setup.

An AI Agent That Works Around the Clock

Unlike traditional AI assistants that simply respond to prompts, Gemini Spark is designed to proactively complete tasks under the user’s direction. Whether it’s organising emails, analysing documents or preparing recurring reports, Spark continues working even when a laptop is closed or a phone is locked, helping users reclaim valuable time for more important priorities.

Google emphasises that users remain fully in control of the experience. Spark only connects to apps that users choose, and it is designed to request confirmation before performing high-impact actions such as sending emails or making purchases.

Automating Everyday Tasks

Google shared several examples of how Gemini Spark can simplify everyday life.

For families, Spark can act as a “Daily Life-maxxer” by searching for upcoming events around Kuala Lumpur every Friday, including food festivals, concerts, night markets, hiking activities and family-friendly attractions. It can compile the information into a Google Doc complete with travel estimates and useful links, while automatically adding recommended events to Google Calendar.

Users looking to better manage their finances can use Spark as a “Savvy Ringgit-saver”, where it reviews monthly bills and subscription receipts stored in Gmail, identifies price increases or expiring free trials, flags subscriptions that may no longer be needed and even drafts cancellation emails for review.

Small business owners and entrepreneurs can automate customer engagement by having Spark scan incoming enquiries, prepare personalised email responses with recommended services and pricing packages, and save them as drafts before sending.

Meanwhile, professionals can create a personalised writing assistant by asking Spark to analyse their previous emails and generate a custom writing style profile. Once saved as a reusable skill called “Ghostwriter”, future email drafts will automatically follow the user’s preferred tone and writing style.

Expanding Google’s AI Vision

The launch of Gemini Spark represents Google’s next step towards agentic AI, where artificial intelligence moves beyond answering questions to actively helping users complete real work.

By combining Google’s AI capabilities with deep integration across Workspace applications, Gemini Spark aims to become a personal AI assistant that quietly handles repetitive digital tasks throughout the day, allowing users to spend less time on administration and more time focusing on work, family and personal priorities.

Availability

Gemini Spark is now rolling out in Malaysia for Google AI Pro and Google AI Ultra subscribers. The feature supports both English and Bahasa Malaysia, with users able to activate and customise Spark directly within the Gemini experience.
