Samsung Malaysia Electronics and Maybank have announced a strategic partnership that introduces Malaysia’s first Samsung Wallet QR Payment experience, allowing Samsung Galaxy users to make QR payments directly from Samsung Wallet. The new feature combines Samsung’s mobile ecosystem with Maybank’s digital banking platform, offering a faster and more convenient way to pay for everyday purchases.
Available from 21 July 2026, eligible Samsung Galaxy users can access Maybank’s MAE Scan & Pay functionality natively within Samsung Wallet through the latest software update. With a simple swipe, users can launch Samsung Wallet, scan a DuitNow QR code and complete transactions without needing to switch between multiple apps.
Faster QR Payments Across the Region
The new integration supports not only local QR payments in Malaysia but also cross-border QR transactions in Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia and Cambodia through Maybank’s MAE Scan & Pay service. Whether paying for groceries, coffee or dining, Samsung says the streamlined experience reduces the number of steps required to complete a transaction while maintaining the security users expect from both Samsung Wallet and Maybank.
Users will also earn Samsung Rewards Points with every eligible QR payment, which can be redeemed for Samsung products and vouchers through the Samsung Members app.
Expanding Samsung Wallet’s Ecosystem
The collaboration marks another major expansion of Samsung Wallet in Malaysia, further strengthening the platform beyond digital cards and mobile credentials. By integrating Maybank’s digital banking services directly into Samsung Wallet, both companies aim to accelerate the adoption of cashless payments while providing a more seamless payment experience for millions of Samsung Galaxy users.
Availability and Launch Promotion
Samsung Wallet QR Payment is rolling out from 21 July 2026 via the latest Samsung Wallet and software update for eligible Samsung Galaxy smartphones.
To celebrate the launch, Samsung and Maybank are offering rewards worth up to RM500,000 through a promotional campaign running from 28 July to 30 October 2026. Eligible users who activate QR Payment in Samsung Wallet will receive RM5, while additional spending rewards of up to RM15 in cashback or vouchers are also available during the campaign.
