Sime Darby Auto ConneXion-Ford has expanded the Ford Ranger lineup in Malaysia with the launch of the new Ranger Platinum, Ranger Sport and Ranger XL. The introduction comes as Ford celebrates a major milestone, with more than 24,000 Next-Generation Ford Rangers now on Malaysian roads since the model’s local debut in 2022, reinforcing its position as one of the country’s most popular pickup trucks.
The new variants are designed to cater to a wider range of customers, from commercial users and fleet operators to lifestyle buyers and premium pickup enthusiasts. Alongside the product launch, Ford also announced the establishment of a new East Malaysia Parts Hub in Kota Kinabalu to further strengthen its aftersales support for customers across Sabah and Sarawak.
Three New Variants for Different Lifestyles

Leading the new lineup is the Ford Ranger Platinum, positioned as the flagship variant. Powered by a 3.0-litre V6 turbo diesel engine producing 250PS and 600Nm of torque, it is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission and features exclusive styling elements including a Platinum grille, 20-inch alloy wheels and an Acacia Green exterior finish. Inside, buyers get quilted leather-accented seats with heating and ventilation, alongside a Bang & Olufsen eight-speaker premium sound system.

The Ranger Sport targets drivers looking for a balance of performance and everyday practicality. Available with either a 3.0-litre V6 Turbo Diesel or 2.0-litre Turbo Diesel engine, it features a sportier exterior design, 18-inch alloy wheels, a digital instrument cluster and either full-time or part-time four-wheel drive depending on the variant.

Meanwhile, the Ranger XL is aimed at businesses and commercial users, offering a practical and durable workhorse equipped with six airbags, a spacious cargo bed and essential safety technologies for demanding daily operations.
Modern Technology Meets Proven Capability

Across the range, the Ranger continues to offer impressive capability with up to 1,000kg payload, 3,500kg towing capacity and 800mm water-wading depth. The pickup also features Ford’s 10-speed automatic transmission, Electronic Shift-on-the-Fly four-wheel drive system, selectable drive modes and a 12-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Inside, buyers will also find dual-zone climate control, multiple USB charging ports and Ford’s suite of intelligent driver assistance technologies, making the Ranger suitable for both work and family use.
Stronger Aftersales Support in East Malaysia
To improve ownership experience, Auto ConneXion-Ford has established a new Parts Hub in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. Beginning phased operations on 27 July 2026, the facility will stock around 1,000 fast-moving genuine Ford and Motorcraft parts, helping reduce parts delivery times and improve servicing efficiency for customers across East Malaysia. The new hub supports Ford’s network of 33 authorised dealerships nationwide, including nine service locations in East Malaysia.
