Philips has officially introduced the Baristina in Malaysia, a compact bean-to-cup espresso machine designed to make café-quality coffee more accessible at home. Built around the philosophy of “Real Espresso, Made Simple”, the Baristina simplifies the traditional espresso-making process by automatically grinding, tamping and brewing fresh coffee beans with a single swipe of the portafilter, delivering a freshly brewed espresso in under 60 seconds.

As Malaysia’s coffee culture continues to grow, the Baristina offers a compelling alternative to both conventional espresso machines and capsule coffee systems. By eliminating complicated setup and preparation while allowing users to enjoy freshly ground beans of their choice, Philips aims to make authentic espresso part of everyday life.

One-Swipe Brewing for Fresh Espresso

The Philips Baristina is built for convenience without sacrificing coffee quality. Its fully automatic brewing system grinds fresh beans, tamps them and extracts either an espresso or lungo at the swipe of the portafilter, removing much of the learning curve associated with traditional home espresso machines.

The machine features a 16-bar pressure pump to produce rich espresso with café-style crema, while its ceramic bean grinder automatically calibrates itself to different coffee beans, ensuring optimal extraction and consistent flavour. Cleanup is equally simple, with the portafilter requiring only a quick rinse or wipe after use.

For users who enjoy milk-based beverages, Philips also offers a separate milk frother capable of producing both hot and cold milk foam for lattes and cappuccinos.

Celebrating Malaysia’s Coffee Culture

To introduce the Baristina to local coffee enthusiasts, Philips has partnered with renowned Malaysian barista Jason Loo, a four-time Malaysia Barista Champion and World Barista Championship Top 4 finalist, alongside actor and host Sean Lee.

Jason Loo has also created a signature Gula Melaka Ube Latte recipe using locally roasted coffee beans and a specially developed Baristina Blend, showcasing how café-inspired beverages can be recreated at home. Meanwhile, Sean Lee represents the growing group of coffee lovers seeking premium coffee experiences that fit naturally into their daily routines.

Compact, Stylish and Sustainable

Designed for modern kitchens, the Baristina features a compact footprint and is available in Black and Milky White finishes. Users can further personalise the machine with interchangeable portafilter handles available in Milky White, Mango Yellow, Black and Wood finishes.

Philips has also focused on sustainability by eliminating the need for single-use coffee pods. Used coffee grounds can be easily removed from the portafilter and repurposed as compost, reducing waste while giving users complete freedom to choose their preferred coffee beans.

Pricing and Availability

The Philips Baristina is now available exclusively through Harvey Norman, with online availability on selected platforms including TikTok Shop. The optional milk frother and interchangeable portafilter handles are sold separately. Pricing has yet to be announced.
